Terrorist havens in Pakistan pose serious problem : US general

Will Indian government take note of this statement by US general and stop dreaming of having friendship with Pakistan ?  Washington : Terrorist safe havens inside Pakistan, providing shelter to terrorist outfits like the Taliban and the Haqqani network, is a serious problem, a top US general nominated to be the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan said on Thursday. “I view it (terrorist safe havens inside Pakistan) as a serious problem,” General John “Mick” Nicholson told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee during his confirmation hearing. If confirmed by the Senate, he would replace General John Campbell as commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan at a time when serious concerns have been raised about the security situation in Afghanistan, where Taliban militants have caused large numbers of casualties and Islamic State affiliates have made some inroads. “One of the biggest problems has been the sanctuary, particularly for the Haqqani Network, particularly the …

What Jihadi? Masood Azhar the wimp

Image
Sensing India’s indignation at the audacious operaion by his Bahawalpur based Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit, the civilian administration in Pakistan led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced the arrest of Masood Azhar,  his brother and some other Jihadi elements ostensibly involved in the whole operation. But mocking his prime minister, Azhar has denied his arrest and announced nonchalantly the continuation of his jihad.
Hiding his curly black mane (according to someone who saw him bare headed once  in an Indian jail), from censuring public gaze, he is so proud of, wearing that Arab scarf over his head all the time, even when he does his Wuzuu (ablutions) in a masjid, and carrying a kind of book/notebook in his hand in all photo ops, he projects himself as some medieval Jihadi with unsheathed sword raised in one hand and the Book in the other straight out of an era of the second Khulafae Rashideen (the first four caliphs, all Sunnis revere), Hazrat Umar Ibne Khattab who…

Twenty four years after the demolition of Babri Masjid, a former archaeologist has come out with the allegation that Left historians like Irfan Habib and Romila Thapar had thwarted an amicable settlement to the Babri Masjid issue. The allegation made by Dr KK Muhammed, former Regional Director(North) of Archaeological Survey of India, in his autobiography titled Njan Enna Bharatiyan (I an Indian) in Malayalam also claim that remains of a Hindu temple were found during the excavation made by a team of archaeologists headed by Professor BB Lal, then director general of the Archaeological Survey of India during 1976-77, in which he was also a member. The cover of the book Njan Enna Bharatiyan by KK Muhammed The autobiography released on Sunday has become a debating point among historians in Kerala. While renowned historian MGS Narayanan fully agree with Muhammed, Left centric historians like Dr KN Panikkar dubbed the arguments raised by the author as baseless and aimed at giving leverage…

Who Killed Rohit Vemula??

Image
To disgrace, Rohit even after his death, by saying that he was anti national and there by meaning indirectly that he “deserved” it, is out right,  REVOLTING.  To be silent during these atrocities will be tantamount to supporting the voices of oppression.

Who was Rohit Vemula..? Rohit Vemula, was hailing from Gurazala near Guntur, Rohith’s father Manikumar works as a security guard at a private hospital while mother V Radhika is a tailor — he had an elder sister and a younger brother. Just at the age of 28-years, Rohit was a double Junior Research Fellow before enrolling for Ph.D in the prestigious Hyderabad Central University in science technology and society studies for the last two years.
He got his admission to the University of Hyderabad on general merit quota. And although he declared himself as a member of a Scheduled Caste in his admission form, he never felt the need to furnish it. He was well-read, meritorious, brilliant. He was a man of action and an inspiration to …

‘My son was burnt alive after he said he was Hindu’

Image
he death of a teenager who was set on fire by three people, including two brothers, who accused him of stealing vehicle batteries has acquired a communal colour in Pune. While the 17-year-old’s father has alleged that his son was burnt alive after he identified himself as a Hindu, a purported video of the boy confirming the allegation while on his death bed has gone public. Some pro-Hindutva groups, meanwhile, have demanded an investigation by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), claiming that the manner in which Savan Rathod was killed “matched the methods” of Islamic State militants. On Thursday, members of Rathod’s Banjara community and Hindutva groups met senior police officers and threatened to launch an agitation on January 27 over the death. Also, a magistrate court extended police custody of the three suspects — Imran and Zuber Tamboli, and Ibrahim Sheikh — until January 25. According to the police FIR — the 17-year-old is listed as the complainant — Rathod was set on fire with pe…

To check radical Islamism, Tajikistan cops shave 13,000 men’s beards

Tajikistan police is reported to have shaved nearly 13,000 men’s beards and closed more than 160 shops selling traditional Muslim clothing to check “foreign” influences. A report by Al Jazeera on Thursday said police in the central Asian Muslim-majority country also convinced more than 1,700 women to stop wearing headscarves in measures seen as the secular leadership’s efforts to prevent influences from neighbouring Afghanistan. Last week, Tajikistan’s parliament banned Arab-sounding names, and marriages between first cousins, otherwise allowed in Islam.
Last year, Tajikistan’s Supreme Court banned the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan – its only registered Islamic political party – following months of violence which the government blamed on radical Islam. President Imomali Rakhmon, who has been ruling since 1994, is likely to ratify the new laws which seek to promote secularism and discourage foreign influences. Rahmon’s current term ends in 2020. A very good example set by a Mus…

Minor Hindu rag picker set ablaze in Pune by Three Muslim perpetrators; victim dies critically after suffering 75 per cent burn injuries. It is not a case of intolerance. As Muslims can’t be intolerant enough anyway in India! The Dadri shouters are all now in a winter sleep row as like the reptiles. In the middle a Minor Hindu rag picker set ablaze in Pune by Three Muslim perpetrators; victim dies critically after suffering 75 per cent burn injuries. There is no hue and cry after the brutal murder of the minor Hindu rag-picker. No big talk shows are heard in any channel nor any queue for the returns of the Awards and citations! Suddenly the call of the conscious minds of the academies, artist, writers, human rightists, intelligentsia,  fall underway. Shame to these dangerous secular people.  In a very shocking incident that took place in Pune on Thursday, a 17-year-old rag Hindu picker w…

Puja stopped in Bakreshwar Temple for communal politics of WB CM Mamata Banerjee

Image
Islamist Mamata Banerjee is humiliating Hindus of Bakreshwar due to her Muslim appeasement policy. Though the State BJP demands a gate in the way named after both the shrines, one for Hindus and other for Muslim to symbolise harmony, the culpable CM of West Bengal stealthy promised to the Muslims to make it exclusively Islamic only. The Birbhum district unit of BJP has been demanding a common gate be built on National Highway No. 60 for pilgrims to Bakreswar temple (A 1000 years old Shiva Temple connected with Shakti Peetha) and Patharchapuri shrine ( A 100 year old Majar on a Muslim Oli) in the district and named after the two famous religious places to symbolise the communal harmony. The renowned Muslim shrine Patharchapuri falls on the way from Suri to ancient Bakreshwar, a famous Lord Shiva pilgrimage site which is also known for its hot-spring. But, the appeasement policy of TMC and WB CM fuels the situation towards a Hindu-Muslim division. It is cracked that, the Islamist CM of …

Headmaster Beaten, Banned from Madrasa for Asking Pupils to Sing National Anthem

Image
Kazi Masum Akhtar, the headmaster of Talpukur Aara High Madrasa in the heart of the city, has been banned from its precincts, after being viciously assaulted by maulanas and their henchmen, for training students to sing the national anthem for the Republic Day in the State where Asia’s first Nobel laureate and West Bengal icon Rabindranath Tagore wrote the song. The Talpukur Aara High Madrasa is a government-recognised school. Many of the radical Muslim clerics who attacked Akhtar are rooting for the ISIS, say sources. So far, Akhtar has appealed to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Governor and the chairman of State Minorities Commission six times, but to no avail. He records his attendance at a state government education department office to draw his salary. The maulvis have dubbed the national anthem “sacrilege” and a “Hindutva song” and issued a fatwa against Akhtar. He was also beaten up with iron rods in March, resulting in a severe head injury that left him months…

Staff of 'Panchajanya' and 'Organiser' to RSS chief

Image
Why have Acche Din meant bad times for us? Advertisements and circulation have improved dramatically after the formation of the Modi government, so why victimise us for protests over low salaries, ask employees.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is facing media trouble from unexpected quarters. The employees of its official English and Hindi publications, Organiser and Panchjanya, have revolted against the management of Bharat Prakashan (Delhi) Limited, which runs the two publications. However, fear of retribution has forced them to keep their rebellion extremely guarded.

Instead of publicly venting their grievances or taking legal recourse, they have sought RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat’s intervention for the resolution of issues they have been agitating against. In a letter written to Bhagawat, these employees have pointed out that they didn’t mind working on low wages – sometimes even getting their salaries in bits and parts – when the financial condition of the publications was not good.
